Welcome to the Gallery!
I am an intermediate photographer, and really got into photography this last couple of years watching the ospreys, years before only dabbling a bit in it. On this page you will find what cameras I use. To see pictures of the ospreys, scroll over the word "Gallery" in the menu bar, and when two sub-bars come out, you can either choose to scroll over 2013 or 2014 pictures, where you can view photos from Beal, Scoggins, or (in 2014) Ritchey.
Above is the camera I use now. It is a Kodak Easyshare Z1015 IS. Although it is only a point and shoot, it takes awesome scenery pictures, and takes pretty good shots of the ospreys. The only things that I don't like about it is it has a hard time tracking and focusing on ospreys as they quickly fly by!
In 2013, I used a Droid Motorola X through binoculars to take pictures of the ospreys. The images were usually pretty blurry unless I was really close to one of the nests. It worked fairly well on sunny days down at the Fishing Hole at Scoggins, where it would automatically focus on the nest, instead of the trees behind it like up on the road. Because of the Droid's limited zoom capabilities, I rarely got the chance to catch a shot of the ospreys flying by.
